Hashirazuri / Pole Suspension / 柱吊り

A pole suspension is usually associated with semenawa and can pose challenges to both the rigger and model.

Once you understand the principle(s) behind this tie you will be well on your way to the next level in your kinbaku/shibari career.

Crucifixion style

For a pole suspension divide the body into two parts: upper and lower.

If the lower body is taking 95% of the load you are free to tie the upper body in a number of ways.

If you prefer to have the upper body take more than 50% of the load your chest tie needs to be much stronger and much more sustainable reducing the choice of upper body ties at your disposal.
